Men’s water polo: UCLA downs Anteaters

WESTWOOD - Third-ranked UCLA jumped out to an 8-0 lead late in the

third quarter and coasted to a 12-2 win over sixth-ranked UC Irvine in a

non-conference game at Sunset Canyon Recreation Center Saturday.

John Dorfi and Corona del Mar High product Garrett Gentry notched

UCI’s goals, while Doug Finfrock had four goalie saves.

UCLA’s Brett Ormsby led the Bruins with four goals and three other

Bruins (1-0) scored two each. Brandon Brooks had 13 saves in goal.

UCI (0-1) returns to action hosting Princeton Friday at the Anteater

Aquatic Complex at 6:00 p.m.
