Swap Meet for the first time this weekend as part of a fund-raiser to

help the Costa Mesa Senior Center.

The nonprofit, multipurpose facility will reap all of the proceeds

groups, crisis intervention, housing assistance, employment training,

transportation, recreation, volunteer activities, social services and

referral information.

Costa Mesa City Councilwoman Linda Dixon, also the council’s liaison

the Costa Mesa Senior Center, and other local officials will be on hand

for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bob’s Old Fashioned

Ice Cream, which is near the swap meet’s Original Snack Bar.

It will be $2 for seniors while children 12 and younger get in free

Saturday and Sunday. It will also include admission to the new Automotive

Road of Dreams, a museum collection of 28 antique, rare, classic and

celebrity cars.

The swap meet is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday.
