WEATHER FORECAST

Finally, a beautiful and sunshiny day presented itself on Wednesday.

Though it should be just about as warm at about 76 degrees in Costa Mesa

and 73 in Newport Beach, the sun isn’t expected to break through the

clouds as early.

Expect an overnight low of about 63 degrees with mostly starry

conditions. Temperatures are expected to rise a bit more on Friday to

BOATING FORECAST

Fog will kick off the morning in the harbor while light southwest

winds will become westerly in the afternoon and blow 10 to 15 knots,

kicking up the typical 2-foot waves and a swell of 4 feet. The same will

be encountered into the evening.

Out farther, the northwest winds will blow 10 to 15 knots early and

will increase to about 20 knots in the afternoon, generating 2- to 3-foot

waves and a mixed northwest and south swell of 5 feet. The winds will

stay steady into the evening and will lighten up later to about 10 to 15

knots. Areas of fog will again develop overnight and into Friday morning.

SURF

Expect some still decent surf in the waist- to shoulder-high range and

fair to good conditions. The waves will calm down a bit come Friday with
