PHOTO OF THE WEEK

It’s been a rough week. When something so terrible happens, you just

don’t want to do anything. This is the way I felt about my routine

schedule at work. I just didn’t want to take a portrait of anyone or

cover anything that wasn’t relevant to what was going on around the

country. Being able to visit prayer services and meet men and women who

were bonding together as a nation made this week bearable.

I spent much of my time this week at John Wayne Airport, covering our

local angle. To look outside onto the tarmac and see airport employees

joining together to show their support and patriotism as they waved an

American Flag to one of the first outgoing passenger flights made things

all right, just for the moment.
