Scott Beck has been appointed project manager at Andrew L. Youngquist

Construction Inc., a Costa Mesa-based general contracting and

construction management firm. Beck’s duties will include overseeing two

construction projects worth a combined $20 million: the new Villa Paloma

senior apartments in San Juan Capistrano, and Kimberly Park, an apartment

community in Victorville. Beck previously served as an estimator for

Martin Harris Construction in Irvine. . . . Kevin Scholl has been

promoted to vice president at Wimberly Allison Tong and Goo, an

architecture, design, planning and consulting firm with offices in

Newport Beach. Scholl joined the firm’s Newport Beach office in 1992 as a

senior designer and project manager. Scholl has been involved in projects

throughout Asia, Europe and the Middle East. The firm has completed 119

hotel and resort renovations and designs, more than any firm in the

world. . . . WL Homes LLC, headquartered in Newport Beach and one of the

top 10 privately held home builders in the nation, appointed Mitchell

Bradford to the post of vice president of land acquisitions for the

Southern California region. Bradford will be responsible for the Orange

County division’s land acquisition activities in Orange and San Diego

counties. Bradford has nearly 20 years in the home-building industry

working for such companies as Grubb and Ellis, William Lyon Homes, Ryland

Group and Kaufman and Broad. He lives in Corona del Mar with wife Holly.

. . . Robert Scott Wylie was sworn in Sept. 8 as vice president of the

State Bar of California. Wylie is serving his third year as a member of

the State Bar’s Board of Governors and now assumes the chairship of the

140,000 attorney bar’s Appointments Task Force. Wylie is the founding

director of Whittier Law School’s Children’s Rights Clinic in Costa Mesa.

He lectures throughout the nation on poverty issues and seeks ways to

increase the availability of civil legal assistance. . . . Scott

Schindele, Melissa Siegel and Kristine Quance-Julian were all hired by

Newport Beach-based Johnson Gray Advertising Inc., one of Orange County’s

leading medium-sized full-service agencies. Schindele will be an account

executive for Johnson Gray. Siegel joins Johnson Gray with a

distinguished background with Hill and Knowlton, the Anaheim Angels,

Mighty Ducks and the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim. Quance-Julian will

perform account coordination functions for Johnson Gray and won a 1996

Olympic gold medal in swimming.
