Justice scores hat trick, Strikers get win

Breanne Justice scored a hat trick Saturday to highlight AYSO Region

117 (Huntington Beach/Fountain Valley) weekend action.

Justice’s three goals proved to be enough for the Strikers, an

Under-10 girls’ team, which defeated Region 509, 3-1.

Under-12 Division

White & Black 3, Tidal Waves 0

Lauren Martinez recorded the shutout in the net and received strong

defensive backup from Gina Byrnes, Michelle Denny and Alyson Gerondale.

On offense, Erin Miller scored the game’s first and final goals and

assisted the second, her sharp pass setting up a Hayley Townsend goal.

Under-19 Division

Team Bait 6, Rancho 1

Hayle Vinzant scored three goals, Amanda Patrick scored twice, and

Nicole Shibel and goalkeeper Ashley Bent, in her first game in net, paced

the defense to lead Team Bait.

Boys’

Under-14 Division

Leprechauns 3, Long Beach 2

Goals were scored by Tony Carlucci, Diego Artiga and John Shinjo, and

assists went to Mirai Oishi and Lorcan Monaghan.
