PEACE WALK

Local community and faith-based organizations will gather today for

the eighth annual Orange County Peace Walk/Peace Jam 2001 at Triangle

Square. The free event will start at 11:30 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. There

will be musicians, an organized walk on the streets around Triangle

Square, displays, raffles and more in celebration of the United Nations’

International Day of Peace. Triangle Square is at Harbor and Newport

NEW SERVICES

St. Matthew’s Church began a new fall lineup of worship services last

week at 330 W. Bay St., Suite 120, Costa Mesa. A family service with

liturgy of the word will be held at 9 a.m. A Holy Eucharist will be held

at 11 a.m. And the first Sunday of each month will be Pantry Sunday,

which is presented with Friends in Service to Humanity. People will be

asked to bring donations of nonperishable foods, diapers and toiletries.

CHABAD JEWISH CENTER

Chabad Jewish Center of Newport Beach will hold Yom Kippur services at

6:30 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday. A Yizkor Memorial service will

A SPIRITUAL JOURNEY

A 26-lesson study on the life of Jesus Christ titled “Journey to the

MEDITATION LESSONS

A “lectio divina” meditation group meeting will be held at 7:10 a.m.
