UCI bumps off Pacific

STOCKTON - Senior Chris Kirchwehm scored three goals to lead No. 7

UC Irvine over 10th-ranked Pacific, 9-6, in the Mountain Pacific Sports

Federation opener for both teams Saturday.

Sophomore Garrett Gentry, a product of Corona del Mar High, and

freshman Dreason Barry added two goals each for the Anteaters, who jumped

to a 5-0 lead late in the second quarter.

Junior goalie Doug Finfrock had eight saves for UCI, which improved to

1-1 overall. The Anteaters play at top-ranked Stanford today, starting at

noon.

Pacific fell to 1-2 overall.
