The Huntington Beach Junior Midget Dolphins defense had yet to be

scored upon this season, but Saturday at Hart Park in Orange, the host

Orange Chiefs rolled up 20 points in a, 20-6 victory in Jr. All-American

Football action.

Huntington Beach, which outscored its first two opponents, 62-0, fell

behind, 8-0 at the half. The Jr. Midget Dolphins mounted a 71-yard

scoring drive early in the second half, with quarterback Brian Shrock

doing the honors on a two-yard sneak. The conversion failed and on the

ensuing kickoff, the Chiefs marched down to the Dolphin four-yard line.

But the Dolphin defense stiffened before Orange sealed the victory with a

two-yard touchdown on fourth down.

Shrock also had a first-quarter touchdown pass to Dallas Gomez

nullified by penalty.

Shrock, Curtis Crandell, Nate Borden, Shane Keating, Willie Fiscus,

Brad Teaford and Joey Esposito came up with a big game in the secondary

for the Dolphins.

Huntington Beach will play its fourth consecutive road game to start

the season on Saturday at Carson. The Dolphins first home game is set for

Oct. 6 against the Norwalk/Santa Fe Springs Saints at Ocean View High.
