WEATHER FORECAST

A few morning clouds may greet those living along the coast, but they

won’t last, and it’ll be yet another great summer-like day. The high will

be in the low to mid-80s in Newport-Mesa with mostly sunny skies.

Overnight, it should be no cooler than the low 60s, which will feel a

bit warmer, so sweaters won’t be necessary for most.

Get this: If you thought it was warm earlier this week, get a load of

Saturday. Hot. In the mid-80s, though it might feel hotter.

BOATING FORECAST

Light winds and areas of dense fog will dominate early in the harbor,

but they’ll pick up to the typical 10- to 15-knot level by afternoon.

They’ll stay steady throughout the day with 2-foot waves and a southwest

swell of 4 feet.

Out farther, a third consecutive small craft advisory has been issued

as the northwesterly winds will blow strong at 15 to 25 knots both day

and night. The waves will roll in between 2 and 3 feet with a northwest

swell of 10 feet. By Saturday morning, the winds will subside to a softer

10 to 15 knots.

SURF

Waist- to shoulder-highs will roll in as part of a northwest swell.

The same should be encountered on Saturday, while Sunday tapers off with

knee- to waist-high waves. Get out there now.
