Boys water polo: Eagles win second half, but lose

COSTA MESA - The Estancia High boys water polo team outscored

visiting Ocean View, 7-6, in the second half but could not complete the

comeback in a 14-9 nonleague loss Thursday.

Jess Hellmich scored six goals to lead the Eagles (1-6), while John Bates, Cliff Glacy and Paul Collier tallied one each. Estancia goalie

Nate Marstellar recorded five saves. Ocean View improved to 3-4.

The Eagles will host their annual alumni game tonight at 6, then they

will host Corona del Mar in their Pacific Coast League opener Wednesday

at 3 p.m.
