NEW SERVICES

St. Matthew’s Church has begun a new fall lineup of worship services

at 330 W. Bay St., Suite 120, Costa Mesa. A family service with liturgy

of the word will be held at 9 a.m. A Holy Eucharist will be held at 11

a.m. And the first Sunday of each month will be Pantry Sunday, which is

presented with Friends in Service to Humanity. People will be asked to

SPIRITUAL AND STRESS-FREE

The Second Church of Christ Scientist will hold a one-hour “spiritual

meeting without stress” for businessmen, students, moms, dads and

COMMUNITY SUKKAH

The Jewish Federation of Orange County will host a community sukkah to

celebrate Sukkot at 7 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Jewish Federation Campus, 250 E.

Baker St., Costa Mesa. Sukkot means booths and commemorates the tents in

which Jews lived during the 40 years they wandered through the desert.

BAT YAHM SERVICES

Temple Bat Yahm will hold a congregational picnic in the sukkah at 1

DIVORCE RECOVERY

The Rev. Bill Flanagan will hold a divorce recovery workshop on six

A SPIRITUAL JOURNEY

A 26-lesson study on the life of Jesus Christ titled “Journey to the

MEDITATION LESSONS

A “lectio divina” meditation group meeting will be held at 7:10 a.m.

Tuesdays at Our Lady Queen of Angels, 2046 Mar Vista Drive, Newport

Beach. Lectio is a style of meditation that includes using Scripture or a
