WEATHER FORECAST

It’s looking like a good day, though by the beach it’ll be foggy again

to start off. The morning will start off in the low 60s, but will quickly

heat up and hit by about 10 a.m. The high should be around 83 at 3 p.m.

The sunny skies likely will make it feel a lot hotter. The temperature

should be cooling back down into the 60s about 8 p.m.

BOATING FORECAST

The winds in our local waters will build throughout the day, peaking

at 15 knots in the afternoon. The wind waves will build, as well, to

about 2 feet on top of a west swell of 3 feet. Watch for more of that

thick fog.

The winds will be much stronger in the deeper water, with a small

craft advisory. The strongest winds will be out of the northwest of San

Nicolas Island. The winds will be up to 25 knots. The wind waves will be

2 to 4 feet, with a northwest swell of 9 feet. Watch for fog.

By nightfall, the winds will start to drop to 10 to 20 knots.

SURF

While the northwest swell leaves town, a southwest is set to take its

place and keep us in the shoulder-high range on the sets. Things should

stay pretty bowly -- but watch the water temps and the nasty high tide in

the morning. The jetties are the place to be.
