Pee Wee White Dolphins overpower Mission Viejo
The Huntington Beach Pee Wee Division White Dolphins have overpowered
four opponents thus far in the 2001 Junior All-American Football season.
On Saturday, the Mission Viejo Cowboys became the latest victim,
losing 18-0.
It was a typical day on the field for the White Dolphins defense,
which has yet to be scored upon this season. In four games Huntington
Beach has outscored its opponents, 119-7 -- the lone score coming on a
turnover.
Defensive standouts Saturday included Daniel Nelson, Angelo Claveria,
Matthew Garza, Christopher Connolly and Danny Alava.
A touchdown run by Cameron Strong early in the second quarter put
Huntington Beach on the scoreboard. The third quarter featured touchdown
runs by Strong and Dhane Stephenson.
The White Dolphins also had a touchdown in the first and fourth
quarters called back due to penalty.
Cessar Nieto also recovered an onside kick for Huntington Beach.

Huntington Beach found itself in a 20-0 first quarter hole and
couldn’t recover. The highlight of the game for the White Dolphins was an
eight minute, 14 play drive that culminated in quarterback Ryan Small’s
one-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.
