Best Car Song award for singing “Start the Car” karaoke style at the

recent Endless Summer Classic Car Show and Elvis Fest at the Orange

County Market Place in Costa Mesa. . . . Jeanette Kaye of Huntington

Beach won the award for the Best Woody with her 1948 Ford Super Deluxe

Woody wagon during the recent Endless Summer Classic Car show at the

Elvis Fest held at the Orange County Marketplace. Elvis impersonator Kirk

Wall was on hand to resent the award. . . . Jon Lazarus of Professional

Community Management Inc.’s Huntington Landmark Senior Adult Community

Assn. in Huntington Beach received the Creative Solutions for

Problem-Solving award at this year’s Vision Awards. . . . Marine Corps

Pfc. Luis A. Torres recently completed basic training at Marine Corps

Recruit Depot, Paris Island, SC. Torres successfully completed 12 weeks

of training designed to challenge new Marine recruits both physically and

mentally. . . . Marine Corps Pvt. Colby B. Stahnke, son of Linda Sladek

of Huntington Beach completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit

Depot in San Diego. Stahnke successfully completed 12 weeks of training

designed to challenge recruits physically and mentally. . . . Navy

Midshipman Chad Keller recently participated in the annual Chibikko Young

Festival while assigned to the guided missile destroyer USS

Chancellorsville. He is a 1997 graduate of Edison High School and the son

of Patricia Wright of Huntington Beach and Eugene Keller of Whittier. . .

. Marine Corps Pfc. Sean H. Beckler recently completed 12-weeks of basic

training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot. Beckler is a 2000 graduate of

Huntington Beach High School and the son of Barbara and Glenn Hamelynck

of Huntington Beach.
