Surf and Sun
WEATHER FORECAST
It should be a little more sunny than yesterday, but not by much. In
typical Southern California fall fashion, expect the temperatures to not
go higher than 71 today. The ultraviolet index will hit its high of 5 at
midday. Most of the day will be spent with gray skies and temperatures in
the mid-60s. October gloom is here a little early for Halloween.

BOATING FORECAST
Close to shore, areas of fog are expected in the morning, along with
winds coming from the southeast at 10 knots or less. That wind will
strengthen in the afternoon, coming from the southwest to west at 10
knots. There will be wind waves of 1 foot or less, along with a southwest
swell of 3 feet.
At night, the winds near shore will come from the southwest at 10 to
15 knots, changing into southeast winds of 10 knots or less overnight.
Further out, morning winds are expected to blow from the northwest at
10 to 15 knots, with a northwest swell of 5 feet. At night, the winds
will change to 10 to 20 knots, still from the northwest, with areas of
fog expected.
SURF
The best local breaks might get shoulder-high sets today, but for the
most part a mix of swell from the southwest and old northwest and
southwest energy will equal waist- to chest-high waves. A little wind
swell is expected for areas without southern exposure.
