Youth Football: Newport-Mesa league salutes America
NEWPORT BEACH - Perhaps staying true to its name, Newport-Mesa
Junior All-American Football will celebrate during games Saturday in a
patriotic manner, as it features, “Seahawks Salute America Day,” at
Bonita Creek Park.
The tribute to America will include representatives from the Newport
Beach Fire and Police Departments. Children will have the opportunity to
climb on a fire truck and interact with fire and police officers.
In addition, miniature American flags will be distributed by
volunteers and 100% of donations received go to the Victims Relief Fund
administered by the American Red Cross. All snack food proceeds will also
go to the Victims Relief Fund.
American flags will be placed at each outside corner of the end zones
and the Seahawks’ football players will be wearing American flag decals
on their helmets.
The action starts at 11 a.m. with a full slate of games, as the the
Jr. Clinic Seahawks take on the Irvine Chargers, followed by
Newport-Mesa’s Clinic squad against the Corona Panthers at 1 p.m.

has Newport-Mesa taking on the Compton Titans at 5 p.m. And the day ends
