Boys water polo: Sea Kings crush University

IRVINE - The Corona del Mar High boys water polo team steered back

on the winning track with a resounding 23-3 Pacific Coast League victory

at University Wednesday.

The Sea Kings (13-1, 2-0 in the PCL), top-ranked in Orange Country and

CIF Southern Section Division II, rebounded from its loss to Coronado in

the Southern California Invitational Saturday, outscoring the Trojans,

14-2 in the second half, while, posting shutouts in the first and third

periods.

CdM junior Artie Dorr led the way as he scored two of his game-high

five goals in the first period. Sea Kings Marcello Pantuliano and Ryan

Moore added three goals each, while Bobby Messenger, Michael March and

Jason DiRocco contributed two apiece. John Mann, Chris Hinger, Matt

Meyer, David DiRocco and John Money also scored, tallying one goal each.

CdM goalie Beau Stockstill was also featured in the Sea Kings’ scoring

attack. He scored a goal and recorded four saves. Sherwin Kim, who also

played goalie, stopped 10 shots.
