SERVICE TIMES: Sunday worship services in English are at 8 a.m. and 11

a.m. Sunday school and adult Bible classes meet from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Sunday worship in Vietnamese is at 9:30 a.m. A Wednesday evening Bible

study and worship service in English is held at 7:30 p.m.

SIZE OF CONGREGATION: 200 or more attend Sunday morning services.

MAKEUP OF CONGREGATION: The background of those in the congregation is

mixed. Some have come from a Lutheran background. Others have come from a

Roman Catholic, Reformed, Baptist, or nondenominational background.

CHILD CARE: Child care is provided during Sunday morning worship

services.

TYPE OF WORSHIP: Services emphasize that God first comes and serves

mankind though his scripture and his sacraments of Holy Baptism and the

Lord’s Supper.

TYPE OF SERMON: Grounded in Scripture and typically drawn from the

Gospel reading for the day.

UPCOMING SERMON: Reformation Day is Oct. 31. The sermon on Sunday,

Oct. 28 will address “The True Treasures of the Christian Church.”

VISITOR INFORMATION: There is a brochure available for first-time

visitors. Information classes are offered on a regular basis.

OUTREACH PROGRAMS: There are five or six opportunities for Bible

study, covering a variety of topics available during the week. Support

and recovery groups meet throughout the week. The church has a very

active youth group. There is an audio, tape ministry. The congregation

provides services at neighboring nursing homes and is involved in a local

juvenile diversion program. A two-week vacation Bible school is held

annually for more than 110 children. The church also operates a Christian

preschool and kindergarten with more than 60 children enrolled.

Instruction includes daily Bible stories and chapel. The church sponsors

the “White Horse Inn” weekly radio program that airs on Sunday at 9 p.m.

on KKLA.
