WEATHER FORECAST

Today might be a good time to pick out that perfect pumpkin. It’s

going to be a warm, clear fall day, with highs in the mid-80s and lows in

the upper-60s. The temperature is expected to hit a high of 86 -- though

it will feel in the 90s -- at 1 p.m. Tonight, go stargazing. The temps

will dip into the mid-60s, but really. That’s not very cold, especially

when you have your sweetie in the moonlight to keep you warm.

BOATING FORECAST

Areas of dense fog close to shore will burn off in the morning. Light

winds will become 10 knots, blowing from the west in the afternoon.

Expect wind waves of 1 foot or less. The winds are expected to die down

overnight.

Further out, the winds will become west to northwest at 10 knots in

the afternoon.

SURF

The good waves are continuous off Newport’s beaches. The past week has

been some of the best surf in a few months and it’s going to keep on

coming today with a fading combination of southwest swell rolling 3- to

5-foot waves in. A new swell from the northwest should show up late

Sunday, making smaller, but still decent, waves on Monday.
