The Huntington Beach Art Center’s exhibit, “Crayola Dream-Makers

Exhibition” is showing through Dec. 1 at the gallery, 538 Main St. The

exhibition will feature students’ work from kindergarten through sixth

grade. The gallery’s hours are noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Friday and

Saturday; noon to 8 p.m. Thursday; and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission

The Tony Award-winning play “Dancing at Lughnasa” continues at the

Old World Village is celebrating Oktoberfest with food, games and

music. The festivities will take place Wednesday through Sunday and run

through Oct. 28 at the village, 7561 Center Ave. Wednesdays and Thursdays

are family nights with free admission, 6:30 to 11 p.m. Fridays and

Saturdays are 21 and over, $10 admission (6:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.) On Sundays

The Huntington Beach Art Center’s exhibit, “Rhapsody” is showing

through Dec. 1. The exhibition will feature Darrow’s works in mixed media

and collage from 1990-2000. Darrow uses ordinary objects such as shows,

scraps of paper and book bindings to create his works. There will be an

artists reception from 7 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 13 and an artist talk from 6

to 8 p.m. on Oct. 18 at the gallery 538 Main St. The gallery’s hours are

The Huntington Beach Concert Band is an all-volunteer community

organization with approximately 70 members, led by music director Tom

Ridley. Founded in February 1973, the band plays a wide variety of

musical styles -- from classical, to Broadway, to contemporary. They

perform frequently at events and locations throughout Southern

California, including Disneyland, Leisure World, Huntington Beach Pier

Plaza, and Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. The Huntington Beach Concert

Band is open to all interested musicians age 18 and over. Rehearsals are

Community United Methodist Church is holding a “Celebrating Our Gifts

Jazz Flutist and vocalist Kathy Dickenson will perform at the

Huntington Beach Central Library and Cultural Center’s 2001 Music Concert

series at 3 p.m. on Nov. 4. Dickenson fronts a trio comprising of musical

director Alan Rowe on keyboard and bass and Joe La Barbera on drums and

Latin percussion. They will perform well-known swing tunes, jazz
