The Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce is hosting a luncheon at noon

Friday at SeaCliff Country Club, 6501 Palm Ave. Featured speaker Senator

Ross Johnson will lead a discussion on “How you can control spiraling

workers’ compensation costs.” The panel will be Patricia Starratt, Bassil

SATURDAY

Flu vaccination clinics will be open to the public at a Huntington

Beach Stater Bros. Vaccinations, for adults 18 and older, will be

SUNDAY

There will be a 5K Run/Walk to benefit Edison High School’s pep

squads. The event will start at 7 a.m. Sunday at Huntington Beach Central

CIVIC GROUPS

Huntington Beach Newcomers will hold its Main Event Luncheon on the

second Tuesday of each month. The group’s purpose is to develop interest

MEDICAL/PARENTING

The Huntington Beach Community Clinic is offering anonymous HIV

The Huntington Beach Community Clinic offers no-charge preventative

health and workplace safety workshops that are presented in the

The Huntington Beach Adult School is offering a free Caregiver

Training class on caregiver support, resources and information on

long-term placement options. The class will be held Saturdays starting at

The Moms Offering Moms Support Club, a nonprofit support group for

stay-at-home mothers, organizes daily activities for mothers and their

children including park play days, fun field trips and age appropriate

play groups. Special interest activities just for mom are included. Every

month, members perform service projects to assist several organizations

A parent education group will meet in 8- to 10-week sessions. The

group is sponsored by Affiliated Counseling Services and will focus on

how to manage parental stress. Parents will discuss appropriate

discipline and use of “time outs,” temper tantrums, chores, schoolwork

group has been bringing moms together for friendship and support. Moms

actively seeking new members. The group offers stay-at-home and employed

outings just for moms, and volunteer opportunities that benefit local

A support group for family members and friends of people with severe

or chronic mental illness is offered through Affiliated Counseling

The Alzheimer’s Assn. of Orange County co-sponsors a free support

group for caregivers living in the Huntington Beach area at 7 p.m. the

Jewish Family Service offers free ongoing bereavement support groups

for adults at all stages of loss at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and 1

p.m. Thursdays. The groups share experiences about dealing with grief,
