Lightning strikes often in 6-1 win

Stephen Marchand tallied two goals and assisted two others last

weekend to lead the Lightning to a 6-1 decision over the Avalanche in

Norris Division play.

Goals also went to Marchand’s brother, Michael, Travis Beckman and

Tony McConnell. Cord Heckel picked up an assist and Nicholas Weldon

recorded nine saves.

Brett Morinaka scored for the Avalanche and Matthew Inouye had 16

saves.

In other games:

Slapshots 6, Surf Dawgs 4

Trevor Dunbar netted three goals and Corey DeMatteo stopped 16 shot

attempts to power the Slapshots.

John Sacco scored twice, Wesley Theobald had a goal and an assist,

Connor Cal Lathrope scored once, Ian Arnold had an assist and Chris

Jernigan had 16 saves for the Surf Dawgs.

Thunder 6, Menehunes 5

Following a goal by Brandon Corral, Christopher Johnson scored the

final five goals to lead the Thunder. Corral and Kyle Christi also had an

assist and William DeWitt recorded 28 saves.

For the Menehunes, Tyler Schultz picked up a goal and two assists,

Blake Miller had a goal and an assist, Taylor Yamaoka, Cody Ferrer and

Matthew Kibler all scored, Blake Miller had an assist and Aaron Nguyen

had 10 saves.

HOWE DIVISION

Kings 4, Flames 1

Travis Miller scored the Kings’ first three goals, Ben Freiborg scored

once and Jason Moore had 17 saves for the Kings.

Jeffrey Andrews scored and Spencer Layman had 11 saves for the Flames.

Stampede 6, Bandits 4

Adam Lamotte scored three goals and added an assist, Luke Hamagiwa

scored with an assist,, Paige Teagle and Blake Cooper scored, Eric Grant

had two assists, Jeff Fuzzard and Justin Romers each had an assist and

Jaryd Mason had eight saves to lead the Stampede.

Greg Weaver scored twice and Jonathan Almaraz and Tom Moore each

scored for the Bandits.

Red Wings 3, Diablos 2

Goals went to Alex Litten, Trevor Jackson and Rinald Hancock. Kyle

Martin had an assist and Darrell McDonald had 12 saves to lead the Red

Wings.

The Diablos received goals from Dylan Dongird and Alec Fuller and 25

saves from Joshua Austin.

Stars 6, Roller Rebels 4

The Stars outscored the Roller Rebels, 3-1, in the final period to

pull out the win. Ali Plummer led the way with four goals, Michael Mowrey

scored once with an assist, Michael Wardlaw scored once, Kevin Morrison

and Griffen Gurzi each had an assist and Tyler Pistoia had 10 saves.

Avalanche 5, Hornets 3

David Marabella scored twice, Kyle Anfang had a goal and an assist,

Mitchel Gonzales and Raymond Thompson scored once, Jared Musacchio and

Gregory Martin each had an assist and Brad Brandenburg stopped 17 shot

attempts for the Avalanche.

For the Hornets, Sean Wing, Ryan Daley and Chris Nicholls scored, Cody

Charnell had an assist and Klaus Halvorson recorded 15 saves.
