PIMCO Commercial Mortgage Securities Trust Inc., which has offices in

Newport Beach, announced that Daniel J. Ivascyn will manage the fund.

Ivascyn is a vice president, portfolio manager and a member of PIMCO’s

mortgage team. He has 10 years of management experience and joined PIMCO

in 1998. . . . Tara Balfour has been appointed market president of Bank

of America’s Orange County region with headquarters in Newport Beach.

Balfour will be responsible for the bank’s operations and associates

across all lines of business, which includes 80 banking centers that

serve Orange County. Balfour will still continue in her position as

commercial banking executive for California, responsible for the bank’s

largest middle market commercial banking clients. She has worked for Bank

of America for 16 years, serving as the regional market executive for the

Bay Area Commercial Banking Office in San Francisco. . . . Martin Hime

was promoted to First Bank & Trust’s vice president at the company’s

Newport Beach office at 4301 MacArthur Blvd. Hime is a Laguna Hills

resident and has more than 20 years of banking experience. He oversees

construction and interim real estate loans for commercial, retail,

multifamily, industrial and residential tract projects in Southern

California. . . . JBZ Architecture and Planning, an architectural and

planning firm with offices in Newport Beach, announced that William

Woodson has joined the company as the director of educational facilities.

He will oversee all aspects of the company’s educational facilities

projects, which include business development, client relations and

project management. Woodson was an associate partner and director of

schools for Langdon Wilson Architecture’s Los Angeles office, and was

district project manager for the Burbank Unified School District before

assuming his new position. He is an active member of the American

Institute of Architects and the Coalition for Adequate School Housing.

JBZ specializes in senior, luxury and high-density housing for major

developers and nonprofit organizations. . . . Christine Pelayo from Costa

Mesa completed a 14-day summer adventure course in Idaho as part of the

National Outdoor Leadership School’s wilderness education program. Pelayo

visited the Lemhi Range in eastern Idaho and learned skills such as rock

climbing, fly fishing, camping and backpacking while learning how to work

with a group and become a leader. The school runs expeditions in Alaska,

western Canada, Mexico, Patagonia, India, Australia, the Rocky Mountains,

Pacific Northwest and Kenya. . . . Victoria Swigart from Newport Beach

joined Pelayo in completing the 14-day adventure course in Idaho put on

by the National Outdoor Leadership Council.
