Newport Harbor’s club surfing team handled Edison of Huntington

Beach in a dual meet Tuesday morning, outscoring Edison, 85-61, to remain

unbeaten as it preps for the league finals later this month.

“Our team has a tremendous amount of depth this year,” said Newport

Coach Scott Morlan. “We can put one of our best longboarders in a

shortboard heat and still do well.”

That was the case Tuesday in chest high sets when longboarder Alex

Knost got a first in shortboard as well as longboard.

The girls again kept Newport in the winning column by finishing 1-2-3.
