UCLA sophomore goalkeeper Zach Wells, a Newport Harbor High

product, was named the Pac-10 men’s soccer Player of the Week for Oct.

30-Nov. 6.

Wells helped the Bruins (8-6-4, 3-2-1 in the Pac-10) extend their unbeaten streak to four games and obtain a share of first place in the

Pac-10. Wells earned his second and third straight shutouts with a 0-0

tie against No. 3 Stanford on Nov. 2 and a 1-0 overtime win against

California on Nov. 4.

Against the Cardinals, Wells made three saves in 120 minutes of play

while facing 15 shots.

He saved four of Cal’s eight shots in 99 minutes of play against the

Bears.
