Community college men’s water polo: Pirates ousted in first round

SAN LUIS OBISPO - The Orange Coast College men’s water polo team’s

season came to an end Wednesday, as the Pirates fell 11-4 at Cuesta in the first round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs.

Jeff Sample scored two goals for the Pirates (15-18), while Newport

Harbor High product Greg Worthing and Matt DeMartino added one each.

OCC goalie Graham Harvey, also a product of Newport Harbor, stopped 12

shots.
