Blue Devils take second place

The Huntington Beach Blue Devils, a National Junior Basketball girls’

eighth grade Blue Conference Team, captured second place last weekend at

the Long Beach Lady Warrior Fall Classic.

In beating the Oxnard Heat, Allison Budzinski and Dana Van Voorhis

each scored eight points and Erin Eskey scored seven points. Budzinski

also led the team with five rebounds and Allyson Weimer added six points

and four assists. The Blue Devils also defeated the Lady Bruins, 23-20.

Eskey was the high scorer with eight points and Stacey Yin grabbed six

rebounds, had three assists and one steal.

The Blue Devils’ only loss came to the Heat, 37-23. Weimer scored nine

points and Budzinski added six points and five rebounds.
