WEATHER FORECAST

Though the day will begin sunny, the clouds will settle in late this

morning to create partly sunny skies. The sun will still have a nice

effect, creating highs in the mid-70s in Costa Mesa and low 70s in

Newport Beach.

Keep the blanket nearby tonight as the lows will creep into the low

50s in Newport-Mesa under partly starry skies. Those along the coast

should take caution while driving early and late today as the dense fog

accumulates.

Expect cooler and cloudier conditions on Tuesday.

BOATING FORECAST

A dense fog both early and late will be encountered in the inner

waters today. The westerly winds will be light at 10 to 15 knots, with

2-foot waves and a west swell of 3 feet. Not much will change into the

night, though the swell will build to 5 feet.

Out farther, the northwesterly winds will blow a bit stronger at 15 to

20 knots, with waves of 3 feet and a northwest swell of 6 feet. The swell

will build to about 8 feet overnight. Expect areas of fog early and late.

SURF

Waves should be in the waist- to chest-high range today. Surf should

be slightly higher Tuesday and much higher on Wednesday as another

northwest swell makes its presence known.
