Anteaters win finale

UC Irvine’s women’s volleyball team closed out their season with a

hard-fought, five-game Big West Conference victory over Idaho’s Vandals

Tuesday night at Crawford Hall on the UCI campus, 30-20, 30-24, 27-30,

25-30, 15-6.

The Anteaters were led by junior Chanda McLeod’s 25-kill, 12-dig

performance. Freshman outside hitter Kelly Wing added 22 kills and came

up big for UCI with a team-high 17 digs.

Freshmen Sami Cash and Brenda Waterman rounded out the double-digit

kills for UCI with 12 and 10, respectively. Freshman setter Ashlie Hain

had 68 assists and 12 digs.

UCI closes out 4-23, 2-16 in the Big West. Idaho is 10-18, 5-13.
