Harbour View Elementary School third-grade students:

Margaret: “Every year at Thanksgiving we think about what we are

thankful for. I have three things that I am thankful for: my family, food

and my freedom. The thing I am most thankful for is my family. I am lucky

to have my family because my mom helps me with my homework and loves me.

My dad works and makes money. He loves me and helps me. My sister plays

with me and loves me. My brother plays with me and helps me and loves me.

I am happy to be free because we can have a jury trial. We can vote for

our president. We can also own land. I am thankful for my food because it

gets checked and it is healthy. We have a lot of it in American. Also,

very few people go hungry. These are the things I am most thankful for.

My family that loves me, our many freedoms and our great abundance of

food.”

Parker: “I am so lucky because I have a lot of things in my life. I

have a home, a family, good food and freedom. I love my life. I am proud

to be free because I get to wear the clothes I want to wear. I can choose

who I want for friends. We also get to choose where we want to live. I

love my family because they do a lot of stuff for me. My mom and dad work

to get money for our family.”

Kendall: “There are many things I am thankful for in this world.

First, I am thankful for life because I like being alive on this earth.

Also, I like being here with people who care so much about me. Next, I am

thankful for my mom and dad. They love me so much. I wouldn’t have it any

other way. The last thing that I am thankful for is earth. Without this

planet no one would be here. It also is very beautiful.”
