AYSO Region 120:

Bad Hair Day defeated Carlos’ Angels in a shootout to win the AYSO

Region 120 girls under-12 soccer championship Tuesday.

Jamie Surdyka scored the game-winning goal in the shootout as

goalkeepers Diana Gonzalez and Bridget Gleason shut out the Angels’

shooters.

The Angels came on strong early in the game. Taylor Carpenter scored

on a breakaway to give the Angels a 1-0 lead.

Bad Hair Day got even early in the second half with a goal from Taylor

West, who scored on an accurate pass from Bridget Gleason. A key save by

Bad Hair Day goalkeeper Paige Wallace preserved the 1-1 tie to send the

game into overtime and a shootout.

The defensive play of Amy Holt, Cara Holmes, Regina Sianez, Genesis

Rivas and Lindsay Tinnion kept Bad Hair Day in the game. Lauren Kipp,

Cori Patelski and Olivia Drummond supplied offensive pressure.
