THOUGHTS FROM THE SCENE: As many times as I went to the local beaches,

I had never been to the tide pools at Crystal Cove State Beach.

Much of north Orange County’s beaches are long stretches of sand,

offering plenty of space for fun in the sun. But at beaches like Pelican

Point, being able to shuffle over exposed reef and see live sea creatures

was a treat. I felt like I was somewhere far away from Orange County,

maybe some far off beach in Mexico. With such a change in scenery,

finding a picture was easy.
