Coast wins

Orange Coast College broke into the victory column for the first

time in five starts Thursday night as the Pirates opened their own

eight-team tournament with a 76-70 victory over Victor Valley, setting

the stage for tonight’s 6 o’clock duel with Long Beach, a first-round

66-54 winner over Imperial Valley.

Ryan Webster led the way with 18 points for the Pirates, while Stephon

Seales (11 points and five assists) and Wade Wyshawn (11 points and eight

boards) assisted.

The Pirates connected on 19 of 30 from the line and it proved to be

the difference, Victor Valley netting 11 of 26.
