Girls basketball: Eagles fall to El Toro

IRVINE - Estancia High’s girls basketball team fell to 0-2 after

dropping a 50-42 decision Saturday against designated host El Toro in the

first round of the University Tournament.

The Eagles, led by point guard Trisha Wase’s 17 points and Tisha

Gray’s dozen, pulled to within five points in the fourth quarter, but

missed two layups and their rally stalled. They play Aliso Niguel in a

consolation round Monday at 8 p.m.
