WEATHER FORECAST

Following a decent weekend, showers are likely this afternoon and

evening in Newport-Mesa. Highs will mostly be in the mid- to upper 50s

with strong wind gusts up to 25 mph. Lows will dip into the low to

mid-40s.

Tuesday looks to be partly cloudy and still cool with highs in the

mid-50s to low 60s. Things should remain cool this week, though the skies

will clear up a bit more toward Wednesday.

BOATING FORECAST

A small craft advisory may go into effect this afternoon as the

northwesterly winds pick up to 15 to 25 knots this afternoon in the inner

waters. Waves will be the 2- to 4-foot range with a west swell of about 6

to 14 feet. By night, the winds will drop to 10 to 15 knots, and the

swell will subside to 7 to 10 feet.

Out farther, the northwesterly winds will blow 10 to 20 knots early

before increasing to 15 to 25 knots this afternoon. Waves will be about 2

to 4 feet, with a swell between 15 and 20 feet. The swell should subside

by morning.

SURF

While it’ll be raining off and on throughout the day, the surf should

be relatively high in the head-high range. Tuesday morning will bring

even larger surf, with standout spots expecting double overheads. By

Tuesday afternoon, the waves will decrease in size, a trend that will

continue throughout the week.
