A gas station attendant suffered minor injuries to his face when he

was struck with a handgun during a robbery at a Huntington Beach gas

station.

Two men fled the Mobil gas station at 21502 Brookhurst Street after

allegedly taking an unknown amount of money at 7:36 p.m. Tuesday, said

Huntington Beach Police Lt. Bruce Kelly.

The two suspects entered the gas station with sweatshirts pulled over

their heads, immediately approached the attendant, and one struck him in

the head with a small caliber automatic handgun demanding money, Kelly

said.

The attendant handed the money to the suspects who then fled the scene

on foot, the attendant reported.

No weapons were fired and no one else was injured.

“Authorities did an extensive area check, including the Santa Ana

River trail, using helicopters and canine units but the suspects were not

located,” Kelly said.

Kelly described the suspects as African-Americans in their late teens

to early 20s.

The man with the gun, was wearing a white or gray hooded sweatshirt,

the other was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, Kelly said.
