1. TREES WILL SPARKLE on the water during the eighth annual Lighting
of the Bay at 6 p.m. today at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort, 1131 Back
Bay Drive. The electric trees will be lit in the middle of the bay and
accompanied by live musical performances by children’s groups, caroling,
seafood chowder, hot chocolate and a Santa visit. (800) 765-7661.
2. DECORATE A TREE and take it home as Sherman Library & Gardens hosts
a class titled “Holiday Greens for Children” at 9 a.m. Saturday at the
gardens, 2647 E. Coast Highway, Corona del Mar. Each child will decorate
a living tree planted in a terra cotta pot. $45 for one parent and one

3. CELEBRATE CHANUKAH as the Chabad Jewish Center of Newport Beach
lights the Giant Menorah of Freedom at 4 p.m. Sunday in Bloomingdale’s
courtyard at Fashion Island, 905 Newport Center Drive. A children’s
choir, face painting, live music, clowns and entertainment, Chanukah
