Girls volleyball: Six locals All-CIF

Corona del Mar High senior setter Jacqueline Becker, the Pacific

Coast League Tri-Most Valuable Player, earned repeat recognition as

first-team All-CIF Southern Section Division III to highlight six locals

recognized by section girls volleyball coaches.

Joining Becker on the Division III first team are CdM teammates Morgan

Smith and Katie Duggan.

Katie King, Liz Lord and Kristin McClune represent Newport Harbor on

the Division II first team.

Smith, a senior opposite and Duggan, a senior middle blocker and

outside hitter, were primary beneficiaries of Becker sets as the Sea

Kings advanced to the CIF III-A semifinals and finished 19-7.

Smith, who will walk on at UCLA, was a first-team All-PCL performer.

Duggan did not make the all-league team.

King, a senior setter, triggered the Sailors’ attack, which included

front-row hammers Lord, a senior middle blocker, and McClune, a junior

outside hitter.

Lord will continue her career at Portland.

The trio, all first-team All-Sea View League choices, helped the

Sailors (22-11) reach the CIF Division II-AA title match against Mira

Costa, and advance to the CIF State playoffs.

Mater Dei senior outside hitter Breegan Mulligan and Irivne senior

middle blocker Olivia Waldowski are Division II Co-Most Valauble Players.

Ventura’s Debbie Litton is Coach of the Year.

Division III MVP honors are shared by Harvard-Westlake senior middle

blocker Terbie Taylar and St. Joseph of Lakewood senior setter Nicole

Rodley. Mike Hinton of St. Joseph is Coach of the Year.
