Huntington Beach businessman, Mitch Cottrell, is simply trying to

spread some holiday cheer.

Cottrell, owner of Electrosystems Electric, a commercial industrial

electric system company is offering to purchase Christmas lights and

install them on any home, apartment, or condominium in Huntington Beach,

free of charge until Dec. 18.

“We would just come out and put up a couple strings of lights -- it’s

just something to add some cheer,” he said. “We’ve been here in the

community since 1988.”

Cottrell said it is just a way of giving something back to the

community.

As of Tuesday, he had only been to two houses, but the offer is still

out there.

“Everything has been kind of quiet the last few months,” Cottrell

said.

This is the first year he’s offered this service, but said he has

donated his services for other minor projects in the past. “I do it in

good faith, in goodwill, for community service,” Cottrell said.
