SANTA BARBARA - Tony Melum scored 31 points to lead the Newport

Harbor High boys basketball team to a 67-62 nonleague victory over Santa

Barbara at UC Santa Barbara.

The Sailors (6-2) grabbed 11 offensive rebounds to Santa Barbara’s

three, which provided a boost because the Dons depended on outside shots,

nailing eight three-pointers.

Newport junior Nedim Pajevic and junior Chase Cameron also scored in

double figures, contributing 14 and 11 points, respectively.

Newport Harbor faces Dos Pueblos today at 5:30 p.m. at UC Santa

Barbara.
