JC basketball: Southwestern defeats OCC
EL CAJON - Shawn Conery led four Southwestern College players in
double figures with 19 points as the Apaches (6-4) defeated Orange Coast,
89-71, Friday in the first round of the Cuyamaca men’s basketball
tournament.
Ryan Webster, a 6-foot-4 sophomore forward, came off the bench to
score a season-high 23 points for Orange Coast (1-8), making 7 of 12 from
three-point territory.
Freshman guard Stephon Seales had 13 points, five rebounds, four
assists and three steals for OCC, while teammate Mark Meyers added 13
points, five boards and three assists.
Orange Coast will play Grossmont today at 2 p.m. in a consolation
game.
