Corona del Mar High’s boys basketball team dropped a 60-57 decision

to Damien High’s Spartans (3-6) Saturday morning at Sonora High in La

Habra at the Sonora/Troy Tournament in one of the tournament’s two

eighth-place games.

The Sea Kings, who were led by the play of Pancho Seaborn (23 points)

and Kevin Mancillas (17 points), trailed by one point twice in the latter

stages and had a couple of chances in the final moments, but came up

short, the last on a last-second three-point attempt which just misfired.

Seaborn was Corona’s leader on the boards with six rebounds, and

Mancillas had four assists.

Corona del Mar, 3-6, hosts nonleague foe Laguna Hills Wednesday in the

Sea Kings’ home opener.
