Costa Mesa Police Department’s all-women DUI duo will receive an award

from Los Amigos of Orange County for its proactive approach to the

problem of drunk driving.

Officers Stephanie Mattiaccia and Joyce LaPointe have made close to

200 arrests over the last 90 days -- a record in the department.

The officers will receive the award during a reception at the

Jagerhaus Restaurant in Anaheim. Orange County Supervisor Cynthia Coad

will make the presentation, and both officers will also receive letters

of appreciation from California Atty. Gen. Bill Lockyer and congressional

certificates issued by Rep.Loretta Sanchez (D-Garden Grove).
