Lions lose
Cal State Los Angeles was a winner in nonconference women’s
basketball Wednesday as the Golden Eagles used four players in
double-figures to post a 73-57 victory over visiting Vanguard University.
Vanguard’s Paulette Seaman (15) and Erin Edmiston (14) basically
matched the winners’ Big Four, but the Lions’ depth wasn’t there to match
the rest. Cal State LA had a 37-23 lead at halftime and made it stand up.
The Lions (4-5) lost it because of the shooting factor. They were 20
for 57 from the field (35.1%). Cal State LA (2-5) hit 31 of 58 (53.4%).
Deborah Candelaria led Vanguard’s rebounding corps with nine.
