Huntington Beach Police continue to look for a man who stole about

$300 in cash from a Huntington Beach motel on Saturday after waving what

appeared to be a meat cleaver, police said.

The robbery occurred at 6:30 a.m. Saturday at the Howard Johnson

Express Inn at 17251 Beach Blvd. The suspect confronted the clerk,

demanding money and waving what looked like a meat cleaver, said

Huntington Beach Police Sgt. Janet Perez.

The clerk gave the man the cash and the suspect ran out of the motel,

she said.

No vehicles were seen and no one was injured, Perez said.

Perez described the suspect as a male, 25 to 30 years old, 5-feet-8,

weighing 160 pounds, wearing a dark colored skullcap and a dark bandanna

across his face.
