Newport Beach Community Services is sponsoring an excursion to see the
113th annual Tournament of Roses Parade on Jan. 1. Tickets are $90 for
Newport Beach residents and $100 for nonresidents. Fees include
transportation via deluxe coach to Pasadena and seating on the Colorado
Boulevard parade route.
Also included is a continental breakfast prior to departure and lunch
on the bus ride home.
The bus leaves at 6 a.m. Jan. 1 from the Mariners Park parking lot,
2005 Dover Drive in Newport Beach.
Themed “Good Times, the parade will feature 53 floats, 24 bands, 27
equestrians and three official cars. Regis Philbin will oversee the
festivities as grand marshal.

‘Dead Man Walking’ into Newport-Mesa
Opera Pacific will produce Jake Heggie’s operatic “Dead Man Walking”
in April at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa.
The opera, based on a novel about Sister Helen Prejean and murderer
Joseph DeRocher, features a libretto by Tony Award-winning playwright
Terrence McNally.
Leonard Foglia will direct the production, to be staged April 16-21.
