Boys basketball: CdM wins big

Kevin Mancillas scored 31 points to lead Corona del Mar High to a

76-35 victory over host El Monte in a nonleague boys basketball game

Wednesday.

The Sea Kings (4-13) scored 21 straight points and held the Lions to

only two points in the first quarter. Corona del Mar led, 38-8, at

halftime.

Mancillas had eight rebounds to go along with his 31 points. Also

chipping in for the Sea Kings were Brett Matsen (12 points) and Eric

Glass (eight points).
