BREN EVENTS CENTER -- It’s back to Big West Conference play for the

UC Irvine men’s basketball team.

After winning the Oneida Classic in Green Bay, Wis. last weekend, the

Anteaters (8-4, 1-0 in the Big West) return to conference action tonight

at 7:05 in a contest against Cal State Fullerton on the Anteaters’

campus.

Leading the Anteaters will be senior guard Jerry Green, who scored a

combined 50 points in tournament victories over Lipscomb University,

79-62, and Boston University, 77-71. Green was named Oneida Classic MVP

and leads UCI in scoring with an average of 23.3 points per game.

Green is also the Big West co-player of the week for men’s basketball.

He shares the honor with Utah State guard Tony Brown. With his offensive

showing at the Oneida Classic, Green moved into the No. 2 slot on UCI’s

career scoring list with 1,622 points. Tod Murphy holds the top spot with

1,778.

In addition to Green, sophomore forward Stanislav Zuzak and junior

guard Mike Hood were named to the Oneida Classic all-tournament team.

Both will likely start with Green against Cal State Fullerton (3-8. 0-2).

Zuzak is averaging 10.2 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game and

is shooting 56% from three-point range this season. Hood takes an 8.1

points per game average into tonight’s contest.

Also starting for the Anteaters will be junior forward Jordan Harris

(11.9 ppg, 6.6 rpg) and sophomore center Adam Parada (10.7 ppg, 6.7 rpg).

The Titans will counter with one of their top players, sophomore

forward Pape Sow (15.4 ppg, 8.5 rpg). Also stepping up for the Titans is

junior Brandon Campbell, who is averaging 13.6 points per game and 5.4

rebounds.

UCI will look to extend its school record 16-game winning streak at

home. The Anteaters have won 20 of their last 21 games in the Bren since

the final two home games in the 1999-2000 season.
