In boys under-12 APP (Advance Play Program) action: Newport Beach

shut out two teams in the Costa Mesa Classic Saturday, defeating Costa

Mesa, 6-0, and Irvine, 3-0.

Calvin Jhunjhnuwala scored two goals, including a penalty kick, while

Will Reichenstein, Adrian Bounanoce and Garrett Heiser also tallied goals

at the Costa Mesa Farm Field.

Bounanoce, Taylor Friend and Heiser scored one goal each in the

victory over Irvine, as the teams battled amid rain.

Jamie Galey, Robbie Joslin, Brian Siemonsma and Otoniel Garcia added

strong support for the victories, and Matt Joslyn, Robby Gordon, Jeremy

Anish, Jake Carroll and Nicholas Sheffield provided solid effort to help

in the shutouts.
